How to Make It Until the Morning
Bishop Terry L. Hill, Jr. turns to Psalm 30 to ask how believers can make it through a difficult night while holding on to praise. He follows the psalm’s movement from thanksgiving through trouble and back to thanksgiving, urging listeners to acknowledge their problems honestly and seek the help they need.
The message calls for persistent prayer and praise that continues through uncertainty. Drawing on David’s appeal to God and the change from mourning to dancing, Bishop Hill describes praise as dynamic, drastic and definite. He emphasizes that joy can arrive while circumstances are still dark: the promised morning is not merely a change on the clock.

We were challenged to learn how to care well for the people who care for us by being cognizant of their needs, compelled to act, and willing to build t…
