Bishop Terry L. Hill, Jr.
Bishop Terry Lamar Hill, Jr., is the founder and senior pastor of The Citadel Church of Jacksonville. Born to Reverend Terry and Lady Debora Hill, Sr., he is a native of Jacksonville, Florida and the oldest of five children.
Needless to say, his first ministry is to his family. He is married to his life partner, First Lady Kim Yvette Hill. Together they have two beautiful daughters, Brianna Nicole (Malcolm) and Terria Yvette.
At The Citadel Church, Bishop Hill builds community through intentional partnership, direct support of students and schools through its annual scholarships, and entrepreneurial empowerment. Bishop serves further by his presence on several local boards including UNCF-Jacksonville Council and YoungLife.
Preaching since the age of 9, he is no stranger to service having worked in nearly every facet of church ministry. Terry L. Hill, Jr. is a graduate of Lancaster Bible College. In 2006, he completed the prestigious Summer Leadership Institute of the Harvard Divinity School. Bishop Hill received the Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. He is currently pursuing the Doctor of Ministry degree at Virginia Union.
In addition to serving as a senior pastor and radio personality on Praise 107.9FM hosting a weekly show, "The Power Up with Pastor Terry", he is also an actor and author having penned two devotionals, "When God Speaks Through Our Children" and "When God Speaks: In Daily Life". In 2018, he was consecrated a Bishop under the hand of Bishop Eric D. Garnes in the United Covenant Churches of Christ. He currently serves as Vice Presiding Bishop in Grace Fellowship of Churches, an organization committed to emerging pastors and churches in and around Accra, Ghana. Bishop Hill is a proud member of the Jacksonville (FL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Lady Kim Hill
First Lady Kim Yvette Murray Hill is a native of Jacksonville, Florida. She is the daughter of the late James and Inez Murray and the youngest of four children. Unafraid to accept God as a young child, Lady Kim became involved in both the church, choir and dance ministries in her early church home, the Historic Mt. Zion AME Church.
Since those early days, Lady Kim has continued to grow in her love for God and her leadership skills. Lady Kim received an academic scholarship to the University of Florida where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, specializing in Finance. She has also earned an Executive Master of Business Administration Degree from Virginia Union University where she received the Leadership in Community Award and was Summa Cum Laude of her class. Lady Kim has remained consistent in ministry currently serving as the Church Administrator and leader of Jehovah's Jewels (Women's Ministry).
Lady Kim is a contributing author of a book of prayer and intercessions titled "50 Shades of Change". The book is a publication of Sister's United for the Journey, a multi-denominational women's group designed to encourage and mobilize women all over the country, through workshops and group activities, to walk out their divine purpose.
In addition to serving in the role of First Lady and co-founder of The Citadel Church of Jacksonville, she has established an impressive tenured career as an impactful leader in the commercial insurance industry. While her obligations to The Citadel are a priority, and knowing she is a mother to many, Lady Kim emphasizes that her greatest role is that of her husband's partner in life, business and ministry as well as being the mother to their two amazing daughters, Brianna Nicole (Malcolm) and Terria Yvette.
